FAQ

Common Questions for Parents

Everything you need to know about our student residences and pastoral care.

What is the age requirement for residents?

Youth Dorm welcomes students from Secondary 1 (Grade 7/Year 7) through University. Our West Kowloon and Sheung Wan residences are dedicated to secondary school students, providing higher levels of supervision, while our Tsim Sha Tsui location caters to university and pre-university students.

Can parents visit the residence?

Absolutely. We believe in transparency and partnership with parents. You are welcome to visit your child by appointment. We also host regular Open Days for prospective families to tour our facilities and meet our pastoral care team.

How do you manage student dining and dietary needs?

We provide nutritious, balanced meal plans designed by professional nutritionists. We are fully equipped to accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian options and specific allergy management, ensuring every student eats well and stays healthy.

How will I know how my child is doing?

Communication is a pillar of our service. We provide regular pastoral reports covering academic progress, attendance, and general well-being. Additionally, parents have direct access to our guardians via WhatsApp or WeChat for real-time updates.

Do you organise trips to mainland China?

Yes! Our Cultural Immersion Programme includes regular excursions to mainland China, including visits to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and significant cultural and historical sites. Students also participate in Hong Kong heritage experiences, Mandarin and Cantonese classes, and cultural festival celebrations. These experiences help students build genuine connections with Chinese culture and community.
